Challenges Facing Newly Released Prisoners

Providing parolees and released prisoners with the resources they need to be successful is the only way to overcome these challenges. Reentry programs, job training, education and counseling will be necessary. Many states already have programs in place, but it is important for ex offenders to know where to get help and who to ask if they need more support.

Why Georgia Needs More Reentry Programs

Georgia has an incarceration rate of 968 per 100,000 people (including prisons, jails, immigration detention, and juvenile justice facilities), meaning that it locks up a higher percentage of its people than any democracy on earth.  – Prison Policy Initiative
