Have you ever felt like you were not good enough?

Maybe you didn’t achieve the goal you had, or somebody said something that hurt you.

It is easy to feel sad or upset in those moments.

Here’s something you need to remember: You are important, no matter what!

Self-worth means deep down you know you are important and valuable just by being you.

It is not something you have to earn or prove to anybody.

It’s not about the small things people accomplish or where they are in life.

It’s about believing that you’re worthy of love, kindness, and respect.

Why does self-worth matter?

It matters because when you believe in your worth, you feel better about yourself and want to do better for yourself.

You will feel more confident and will be less afraid of making mistakes in life.

You may want to try new things, stand up for yourself, and be kind to others whether they have been kind to you.

You will also be less afraid to ask for help when you need it.

People that is aware of their self-worth tend to know how and when to say “no” when something does not feel right.

Even when things go wrong, having a strong sense of self-worth, helps you come back and keep going.

How can one build self-worth?

Saying kind words to yourself is a great start.

Instead of saying, “I can’t do this,” replace it with “I’ll do my best.”

Or “I’m so horrible at this,” say “I’m still learning, and that’s okay.

This step will improve how you see things and help you change for the better.

Find things you really enjoy doing.

Whether it’s drawing, reading, going for a run, writing, all these things can help you feel happier instead of being stuck in your thoughts.

Be around people who treat you well.

Surround yourself with people with good energy instead of people who say bad things to you, or don’t believe in you.

A good support system from your family or friends helps you feel good about who you are.

Be proud of the progress you have made thus far.

Celebrate all your wins, no matter big or small.

Every win matters so acknowledge the things you accomplished.

If its finishing a book, helping a friend or stranger, or learning something new.

Each step forward will help you love yourself and improve your happiness.

Be your own friend too!

Treat yourself the way you would treat somebody that is important to you – with patience, love, kindness, and encouragement.

An activity you can try doing now is taking pieces of paper, or sticky notes, and write something special about yourself on each small piece of paper.

When you’re done, hang those pieces of paper somewhere you see every day.

It will help remind you how important and valuable you really are.

Remember that you are one of a kind.

There is nobody else in the entire world just like you.

That fact makes you special.

Everything about you, down to your hair, your smile, your laugh, your thoughts, your heart, your soul, all matters.

The next time you’re feeling down, remind yourself that your worth isn’t based on what you do.

You do not have to change to be worthy of love, respect, and kindness.

Your self-worth is based on who you are and trust me when I say this, You Are Enough
