Many people do not get the opportunity to work from home, let alone mothers.

It is a special role and opportunity that families can take advantage of.

Mom can stay home and be available for her children hands-on.

There are many benefits to this role that can play a role in shaping a child’s future.

One of the benefits is building a close relationship.

Whenever mom is at home, she is more available to be there for her children.

Not only does this benefit a child who may stay home all day with mom, but this also benefits a child who is in grade school.

Most parents that work 9-5 jobs usually have to put their children in aftercare services, which means they are at school more hours of the week than they are at home, and by the time mom gets home, she is tired and giving her all to tend to her children.

If mom is there, children know their parents always have the time and ability to be there.

Then there is stability and routine.

It can be hard for a mother to come home from work, cook, clean, and help with homework on a day-to-day basis.

If mom is home the majority of the time, she has more of an ability to do the cooking and cleaning throughout the day so that when the children get home, she can tend to assist them with their homework, bathtime, and daily conversations and updates.

Most importantly, if mom has more time to get things done, she can manage bedtimes, which ultimately leads to children’s productivity in school.

Children need to be well-rested and alert while at school so if children stick to their daily routines, they are more likely to be successful in school.

Stay-at-home moms play a huge role in helping with learning and growth.

Along with the benefits of creating those routines, moms can spend more time with children to teach them new things.

Some moms may read books, play games, and even teach them important life skills.

Along with the benefits of working from home, there can sometimes be so challenges.

For some mothers, working from home can be a little stressful if they don’t balance taking care of the kids, running the household, and finding time for themselves.

There are benefits from working in a work setting such as building social connections with coworkers or getting the recognition they would receive in a workspace.

If mom finds ways to connect with individuals through virtual meetings, or even family and friends outside of work, she can continue to keep connections and fill that void with the outside world.

Mom also must take time for herself.

Working from home, especially with little children, means she never gets a break.

She must take time in between naps or even find babysitters or even hourly programs to give herself some grace and pour into herself.

This leads to support.

Although it may be financially beneficial to work from home, stay-at-home moms still need support.

This is why having a partner when you have children is so important.

Moms need to feel supported and encouraged and if they don’t have a partner, having friends or family in their corner makes a big difference.

Whenever a mom feels supported, she can provide much better care for her children.

Lastly, we must discuss the financial benefits.

Mom saves so much money from not having to pay for childcare since she is home when the school bus drops the kids off.

She also can watch the baby, if she has one, at home during the day.

While being a stay-at-home mom may have its challenges, it is completely rewarding in so many ways.
